字裡行間In Between The Lines

古時候的人們，非常重視一個人寫字的字體。她他們皆認為一個人的字體若端正，這人為人也會端正。因此，她們們有些親自教子女，有些則請專人教。要想寫得端正字體，首先得在妳你的心態上、坐姿上、握筆上，下一番功夫。祇要這「三上」功夫有下足，心字合一，表裡合一，何愁字人不端正。

測字之術

坊間有測字一術，從來者的親寫字體中，回答來者欲知的，吉凶禍福，準與不準，得視那位測字師父功力而定。其實不祇是一般人字體要端正，做為一位師父，字體更應該要端正。因為端正的師父，自然是位良師。良師當然也就不會欺騙眾生，而且其術也端正，此理是一定的。

人如其字，字如其人

吾，玳瑚師父，也有吾測字的心得。近年有略傳，吾之門生及學生。從中也希望她他們能積極鞭策自己，己利而利人，己達而達人。單從那麼一個字，真能看出「端倪」來？妳你先別問吾，先問一問妳你自己，妳你寫出最令妳你滿意的字是甚麼時候？妳你的回答，一定是妳你心情愉悅之時。由此妳你就明白，妳你所寫出來的字，乃是妳你心念而發。所以欲寫好字體，首在心態上下功夫是也。

有一男一女因「初時的感動」，先後跟吾學佛。有一天，吾不經意地從她他們的字裡行間驚見，又是「問題」男女。心裡更加斷定她他們是沒有未來的，而且很快就要進入痛苦的境地，還以為自己做對了抉擇，真的是有夠那個的。字如心不可歪，歪者難逃命運的束縛。

During the ancient times, people placed much importance on the handwriting of a person. They believed that it reflected one’s character. If the handwriting was proper, the person who wrote it must be of an upright character as well. Therefore, some parents would personally teach their children to write proper while others would even hire experts to coach their children. To write in a proper and upright manner, you would need to, first and foremost, work on your mindset, sitting posture and the way you hold the pen. As long as these three aspects are diligently well-practiced, the inner mind and outer handwriting will be in union as one. When this happens, there is no worry that the person’s character and handwriting will not be proper.

The Art of Glyphomancy 

There is an art known as glyphomancy where the handwritten word of a person is used to foretell his good tidings and misfortunes. The accuracy of it really depends on the level of mastery of the glyphomancy Master. Actually, it is not just the laymen who should write properly and in an upright manner. As a Master, it is more imperative to have upright and proper handwriting. Because this will mean he is a proper Master with virtues, and such a Master will definitely not deceive sentient beings and his practice and skills will most certainly be ethical.

The Handwriting Reflects One’s Character

I have my own insights when it comes to glyphomancy and have, in recent years, imparted some of this knowledge to my disciples and students. I hope to spur them on so that they would diligently leverage on this skill to bring benefits to themselves and others and reach their goals. Are we really able to get any inkling about a person from just a single word written by him or her? Please do not ask me yet. Ask yourself this: was there ever a moment you were very satisfied with a word you wrote? Your answer would certainly be during your moment of happiness. As such, you will find it easier to understand that your handwriting is shaped by your thoughts at any given moment in time. Therefore, to have upright handwriting, you need to first work on your mindset.

There were a male and a female students who initially found resonance in my teachings and decided to learn the Dharma from me. One day, I unintentionally discovered from their handwriting that they are “problematic” people, and became even surer that they would have no good future and soon fall into an abyss of sufferings. But they thought that they had made the right choices in life. Alas. Your handwriting, like your heart, cannot be crooked, for the crooked ones will not escape the clutches of fate.
