一碗豆漿一份緣 Affinity Over a bowl of soya milk
During my stay in Tai Chung, I had supper almost every night at the soya milk eatery opposite my hotel. I love hot soya milk and the soya milk in Taiwan is my favourite for its pure and rustic taste.
When I walked into the shop, my first observation was a shop in a pitiable state. (Art of intuitive insight upon entering a property.)
When I saw the shop owner, she was just as pitiable as the state of her shop. (Observation of the property followed by face reading of the owner.)
But the owner was very friendly in her service. She was mindful to place the food and utensils on our table lightly and without haste, with a gentle disposition very untypical of the servers nowadays. I saw the meritorious virtues in her and wished to give her some advice. My student invited her to have a chat with us and she readily obliged. We do have affinity indeed!
Without waiting for her to say much, I told her my observations that her business was poor. She broke into tears and admitted frankly that her years of hard work are unrewarded financially, further exacerbated by her inability to hire good employees for the shop.
I listed the flaws in the Feng Shui of her shop:
– The toilet door was not closed at all times, allowing
energy of filth to permeate the shop. This was both
unhygienic and a taboo in Feng Shui.
– The shop faced a temple and was situated on a land of
poor energy.
– Excessive use of mirrors in the shop interior.
– The store of wealth position was messy and cluttered.
– The sink outside the shop was installed in the wrong
location.
etc.
Such a Feng Shui layout not only resulted in a loss of wealth for the business, disharmony among the workers, but also affected the shop’s appeal to the customers. No wonder customers were sparse and a few even on weekend nights, I taught the owner techniques to negate the lapses in the Feng Shui of her shop, and gave her a free analysis of her name, facial features as well as auspicious dates for the Feng Shui solutions.
Haha! It’s not everyday you see me dishing out free advice of such magnitude. However, if that person is virtuous (which is such rarity nowadays), I tend to give him or her more. It’s what they deserve, it’s their merits earned from living a virtuous and morally upright life. I know that these individuals will put my advice to good use, and in turn, bring more benefits to the society. I am sure the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas would want me to lend a helping hand too.
The obedient shop owner implemented my advice in the shortest time. Before I left Taiwan, she came to me with the good news that she successfully hired a worker with relevant work experience, something she has been struggling with in the past. In addition, there was a marked improvement in her business the past few days! When a geomancer is accurate in his advice, the results shows quickly like the shadow that formed as soon as the stilt strikes the ground.
Many people often lament that we have neither the time nor money to perform kind deeds. You know something? A person who can treat others with kindness and compassion in every moment of his life is in fact performing kind deeds all the time. For this to become a way of daily life makes such a person all the more precious and rarer. If this shop owner has not done such virtuous deeds, how would she have the affinity to receive advice of directions from me?
