On Labour Day, I wore a pink sweater to the Choa Chu Kang Chinese Cemetery for the prayer rituals to the deities & homeless spirits there.
The event kicked off at 11am with bright sunshine and lasted till 6pm. I have a very tanned face to show for it! Despite the fiery weather, the enthusiasm of all present did not wane and seemed to to be further fueled by the heat! Everyone worked together in perfect coordination and harmony and the activities unfolded like a perfect symphony.
The most joyous and praiseworthy part was when the Earth deities and homeless spirits were willing to take refuge in the Triple Gems upon the asking of the organizers! I knew the outcome would be such, thus this trip to the cemetery was a celebratory one! My choice of a pink-colored top explained!
May the merits of the deceased increase, with the eradication of their negative karma and here’s to their swift rebirth in a better realm. Sadhu, sadhu, sadhu!
